Hitachi TR.1?
Noooo! The 1957 Lascurain Aura, Mexico (how could I miss it :() This is what happened to it http://i1103.photobucket.com/albums/...Dep/V44092.jpg http://vintageaeroplanewriter.******...rain-aura.html Real Aviation History and Nostalgia stuff, if you ask me. |
Excellent find RD....Mexico, of course it makes sense when you think it through. New one on me :ok:
|
Thought about Mexico too (hot, high...) but then I couldn't find any manufacturer's name other than the ones listed in Wikipedia... :E
Adrian Owen Edit: oh and btw (where are my manners...), congratulations! |
RegDep is spot on:ok:. The Jacobs powered Lascurain Aura. A tragedy.
Over to you! http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r...vair640/01.jpg |
|
An Edgley Optica, maybe?
Adrian Owen |
Correct HappyPass! :ok:
Edgley Optica You know the procedure? Either you post a new challenge or, if you have nothing prepared, declare Open House. Open house is not preferred, but acceptable. If you wish advice on how to prepare challenge silhouettes, other PPRuNers are happy to help. Lightning Mate is now having vacation, but he will be back soon and, I believe, will be happy to tutor you. The theread is yours, HappyPass :D Reg |
Ok, since I will be able to access my pc in the foreseeable future, I'm game! :E
My first time, hope to blend in well, but, as they say, only practice make perfect, apologies if it is too difficult/too easy/too stupid/too anything. First and foremost hope to get the tags right... http://img828.imageshack.us/i/challengeb.jpghttp://img828.imageshack.us/img828/8001/challengeb.jpg An' then it's all yours, gentlemen.:ok: |
Attaboy HappyPass!
I am going to turn in now. Se you guys in the morning! |
An' then it's all yours, gentlemen. Sorry, but it'll have to be Open House. Cheers. |
G'day to you (or good evening Down Under)!
Your answer is, of course, spot on. :ok: http://img848.imageshack.us/img848/8075/pzlp45.jpg Noyade has requested Open House. |
Good afternoon HappyPass and a somewhat belated "Welcome to the thread" from me and congratulations on your first "kill" and challenge. Keep it up :ok:
I'm sorry that you've been ploughing a rather lonely furrow today, with more than the usual number of players being absent for one reason or another. I've been very busy during my usual "breaks" during the day and plagued with an unreliable connection at home! Anyway, enough excuses; here's one for you to play with! http://i1138.photobucket.com/albums/.../TC_wtf087.jpg |
Good afternoon Sinco...the Maeda Ku-1 from Japan I believe?
And if I may just add my belated welcome to HappyPass. As Sinco has said its very quiet at present, but you will see if you look back over the thread, it can get very hectic! Hope you stick with it and enjoy the fun :ok:. Ken |
Good afternoon Ken,
It is indeed the Maeda Ku-1 Troop Transport/Trainer Glider from Japan Well done :ok: I didn't think it would last long, but I coulldn't bear to see HappyPass marooned with now't to work on! I'm off back to work now, but will try and look in at coffee break and with luck when I get home, as OpenReach are threatening to fix my line today!! skytrain10 has control |
Hi Trevor
Thanks for that. Unfortunately I've been pretty busy workwise to so not really had a chance to look in until now. At least I'm working from home this week, so life is a little easier! Anyway for HappyPass and yourself, plus anyone who may be looking in, here's a snazy little number: http://i551.photobucket.com/albums/i...e/50275ea2.jpg |
Thanks, SincoTC!
I've been quite busy today, so don't worry too much about me (by the way I think I forgot to log out...). Just casting an eye from time to time. Best regards |
An Icon A5, perhaps?
gotta declare it an Open House if right however... busy afternoon... Cheers |
Good shot HappyPass!
Interesting to see that skytrain has redacted one picture from his silhouette but left small marks of the folded wing-tips in to the lower right corner :8. Having a household day today, maybe back later. Cheers. |
Well done HappyPass, it is the Icon A5 from the US:ok:
http://i551.photobucket.com/albums/i...e/aa4ba123.jpg My editing skills are clearly lacking RD! HappyPass has declared Open House |
Oh dear, coffee time and another Open House with only the previous challenger's light alonely glowing!!
Not had time to prepare anything, so this'll have to do as it is! http://i1138.photobucket.com/albums/.../TC_wtf088.jpg |
Ford Flying Fliver ?
|
Not the Ford Flivver, but in the right decade!
|
American...as in US?
|
Not American in any sense of the word!
Digging a little, although not connected with the Flivver in any way, I have found the word "Ford" used in a magazine article to to describe its manufacturer's intentions and expectations, that is, it being cheap to build in quantity and using a low-powered engine and thus become ubiquitous! Changed the wording 'coz the word "Ford" may have been used by the manufacturer rather than a journo! |
I'm tempted to say British, but although it bears a passing resemblance to a couple of aircraft there are distinct differences. Work's done so time for some serious research!
|
Work's done so time for some serious research! I will put my light back on as soon as I get home and can resuscitate my router!! I'm hoping that the engineers have sorted out my line today, but there's no change in my "fault status" on their website, so I expect it'll be an evening of inconvenient drop-outs with "masonic-like" rituals and obscene incantations to get the bl:mad:y thing to connect again at a very slow speed, oh joy!! BTW. It's not British. Off in ten minutes, back around forty! |
Back again; still on a dodgy connection, but open for questions!
Hint. Stick to mainland Europe! |
Two-cylinder horizontally opposed engine? Would the engine be British?
|
Evening Reg,
Two-cylinder horizontally opposed engine is correct, 30-35 hp, but it's not British |
Good evening...why did I leave Germany until last in my search...probably because I wasn't expecting anyone to compare a German machine with a Ford!
Its the Dietrich Gobiet Sport Monoplane I believe? |
probably because I wasn't expecting anyone to compare a German machine with a Ford! That's near enough for me, it is the Dietrich Gobiet DP-VII Sport Monoplane :D Here is where I found that comment: aero show | vii | dietrich-gobiet | 1924 | 0286 | Flight Archive skytrain10 has control :ok: |
Thanks Sinco, a good challenge, and an interesting machine.
Here's the next one: http://i551.photobucket.com/albums/i...e/849b728f.jpg |
Just going to sit down to eat at the moment; so I'll ask the usual guestion, is this from the USA and is it on Aerofiles ? Also, how many seats?
|
Sinco, yes its from the US and you'll find it in Aerofiles. Think thats enough to be going on with!
|
Thanks Ken,
I think that I'm going to give up the unequal struggle with this dodgy and very slow connection and log off before it goes down again. I've struggled through a fair number of candidates without luck so far and have got an early start tomorrow. I'll pick it up at coffee break in the morning if the night/early morning-shift don't nab it first. Goodnight and sleep well :ok: |
Thanks Trevor. Going to call it a day myself now. If Graeme or Bri haven't jumped in and got it overnight I'll start feeding the clues in tomorrow morning.:)
Good night. |
Kari-Keen Sioux Coupe ?
|
If Graeme or Bri haven't jumped in and got it overnight I had a sneaky feeling that it wouldn't be that straightforward Ken, probably with a no photo entry on Aerofiles and I had abandoned trying to goggle all those due to my lousy connection, but I didn't figure on there being photos (without the cowl), but you hadn't used them. The clues were there though and I should have remembered that RCM photo from when the K-K was on Aviaquiz a few weeks back! Great challenge Ken and a good find Brian :ok: |
Kari-Keen Sioux Coupe ? http://i551.photobucket.com/albums/i...e/55c33425.jpg I'm not always that devious SincoTC! evansb has control |
