Air Ministry Specification B.7/40 ?

Ridge Runner 1st Jul 2011 09:54

Wasn't that the Buckingham, mate?

HappyPass 1st Jul 2011 09:55

Wiki:

A design by Armstrong Whitworth not taken further Bristol Beaumont accepted but not built, led to Buckingham (q.v.)
I think Buttrick means Buckingham = y

Edit: so it's either type 161 or type 162 Beaumont, can't find plan view.
I now see that aviastar talks about a type 162 linked to spec B.2/41 and a "161 Beaumont"

anyway...
(note: these edits came after RR's post)

Ridge Runner 1st Jul 2011 09:56

Bristol 162 Beaumont (Mk.I as the Mk.2 had Merlins)?

Lightning Mate 1st Jul 2011 10:03

Looked at that one.

Issa got in-line Griffons and a long nose.

Didn't he rule out the Hercules engine?

Maybe the Taurus then?

The Bristol type 155 composite bomber (Spec. B 19/38).....?

Noyade 1st Jul 2011 10:33

Have we ascertained where buttrick lives....time zones, etc....?

Lightning Mate 1st Jul 2011 10:34

Evening mate.

I think it's Dharan, Saudi Arabia.

Noyade 1st Jul 2011 10:36

Saudi Arabia.

going shopping
Shops just opening or shutting? :)

Lightning Mate 1st Jul 2011 10:38

If I am correct then he is two hours ahead of the Prune clock.

Shops open at all hours there - I lived there for five years.

They all shut for prayer times.

Noyade 1st Jul 2011 10:40

Shops open at all hours there
So if camels are on special, he won't be hurrying back?

HappyPass 1st Jul 2011 10:40

Shuldn't that be Dhahran, being Dharan in Nepal?

Noyade 1st Jul 2011 10:41

Hmmm...shops open all hours in Nepal?

Lightning Mate 1st Jul 2011 10:42

I think we all thought that at first, but didn't he then mention Saudi some time ago?
