Junkers G.38. mate
Edit: Er, no its not! .... Me323?? |
You sure about that Martin?
Whilst we wait for Bri to wake up, wossa mark of the Lightnings? |
Well, LM, ain't that classy! :)
...did Burnelli also made single boom aircraft? |
|
Ain't it just HP.
Many thanks RR. :) The challenge, apart from the wing planform, looks more like the Ju 322 Mammut. |

Not F3s mate.
Edit for your edit - yes. F1As to be precise. |
I only scrutinised the fin-tips later!
|

Not that I can find. Then it must be along the lines of your Mammut suggestion... or Russian? |
Could it be a Tupolev/ANT?
|
I'm still trying to work out whether it is powered or not.
|
My money is on powered (tail boom angle, jagged nose profile = engines?)
I was looking at the ANT-20 before (wiki similar aircraft links): too many engines imho, nose too long, even if, if one takes the perspective into account... |
I'd go for Me322/323 but there is no sign of fuselage ahead of the wing!
|
I just can't buy those mate. :\
Since Lethbridge is seven hours behind us, it is going to be a long wait, so I'll check out for now. |
stepping back... nice XTB2F-1 by the way! Clearly a Tracker predecessor!
RR |
Xtb2F lumps: - drop tanks on my drawing, but pylons look capable of bombs and torpedos etc.:\
The challenge is almost certainly the Ju322, which had no forward fuselage to speak of with the cockpit sitting on top. http://img219.imageshack.us/img219/5296/ju322vyk.jpg the more I look at the drawing the less convinced I become, not enough aspect ratio, or was there an extended span version.? |
|
LM and Buttrick are correct. It is the Junkers Ju-322 Mummut. :ok: LM has control.
|
Good grief - so it was unpowered!
Still don't get the wing outer planform though. |
