I think the airstrip is in North Korea, but I can't identify the exact location.

Neither Drem Hawarden or Broughton.

To me they look like the southerly Pennine / Peak district hills similar to due east of Manchester Ringway. Whilst Woodford tempts me, I shall opt for Ashborne initially.

5 hours further than the Azores in a 744, or 2 hours if you were lucky enough to be on Concorde (or 15+ hours if you were unlucky enough to be in a pigboat!):

I'm racking my brains to try and remember where Survair operated that Mosquito. :p

Not Resolute, but it is north of 60. Pacific Western was the major operator into this airport, if that's helpful.

By the way, the operator of the Mossies (B.Mk 35's for those interested in such things) was Spartan Air Services, not Survair. The photo was taken in 1963, the final year of the six year, high level (30k'+) photogrammetry contract of the Canadian Arctic. The guys were waiting for weather to clean up the last of the missing lines.
