Camera Pod (?) in Phantom FGR2 Sparrow Launcher

Can anyone shed some light on the pod in the port forward Sparrow launcher on the picture below? I can only recall seeing it in pictures of aircraft in the strike/attack role in the early/mid 70s.

Yes. The fixed forward facing oblique camera mount on an RAF Phantom was a Vinten F95 Mk 7 (70mm) with a 3 inch lens mounted at 20 deg depression.

Forty-seven minutes for a reply, this board is slowing up! Much appreciated.

Probably taken in '68/69 when we shared the aircraft as the Coningsby Wing, and were only allowed to put small squadron markings on the nose (has a Canopener) for special occasions. We did a CTTO trial in this fit. As I recall, it was a bit of a dragmaster and could only manage around 600 knots.
