Meteor Hispano cannon

Right, donning the anorak for this one!

For any armourers out there, I need to know the colour of the ammunition feed guides and link chutes on the Meteor (pref. the F.8). Contemporary photographs appear to show this as a significantly lighter colour than the weapon itself, possibly either white or yellow.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Hispano Cannon

As an apprentice at Glosters I worked in the armoury amongst most other departments. The only colour used in the aircraft at that stage was the standard light green primer.

Thanks for that, would the primer in the gun bay have been given a top coat of something? All contemporary pics show black or very dark around the cannon breech and feeds, but I guess this could have been blackening from the canon firing.
