thanks
for your help.
My Brother Bob, loves the Spitfire an simply wants to stand next to one when it is started and hear the merlin kick in. So I thought I'd try and sort it out for him. Simon |
Simon, suggest you get him up to Duxford this weekend - "70th Anniversary of the Spitfire" airshow - dunno how many will be there but they've flown at least twenty in formation in the past. Sounds wonderful :ok:
Take a look at the Imperial War Musuem's Duxford web page for more info. |

Donning my annorac - 16. Still v.v. impressive. |
Borrowing JDK's anorak for a mo - and some of those 16 will have the Griffon-flavoured elastic under the bonnet, but in my book that's even better!

If it's a Merlin you are after, then I happen to know where there is one in an airframe with much greater combat significance than any Spitfire bar P7350.
Not a million miles from Oxford, either. PM me - AA |
On the topic, and the proof..

I think this is quite good if you have stereo speakers. Sorry if the link isn't quite right. |
