That was the rumour, but it was quite a while ago now (pre-Covid?) and well......I'd have thought that something more in terms of definitive details would have emerged?

After 30 odd years 'in progress' and as said above, I can also remember it arriving at DX in boxes, I doubt I'll ever see it fly (or the ex-Halton Beau now in Aus)

Considering that the RAF flew them until 1960, its one of those remarkable, why are there no more left situations, in terms of whole examples, and parts sources.

From what I’ve seen , the engine issue is resolved : The bits are there to build them if someone orders them.
Expensive but doable.
As usual , I’ll hastily add that I could be wrong!
In my mind , the Beau’ served us as just as well as the Mosquito did.
It’s nice that others are interested too.

I hadn't thought of that...

A TFC engineer told me that some years ago so it's possible that more may have been located since then.

Isn't there also an issue with lack of compatible prop hubs, or was that when they were looking at using non-original type engines, and there were no suitable prop hubs for those? Can't quite remember?
Pete Rushen used to post interesting 'straight from the horses mouth' stuff about the Beau project on the old Flypast forum years ago, before Key trashed it and everyone left.

Pete Rushen is about to start engine restoration for the Beau project and, via the ashy remnants of the Flypast forum, is still looking for bits to help the process along so if anybody has leads on parts (anything Beau not just engines) please contact The Fighter Collection at Duxford.

We deserve to see this magnificent aircraft back in British skies, preferably alongside a Mossie!

When it first arrived at Duxford I seem to recall it ha d a Disney Goofy nose art. Anyone know anything about the aircraft, or the one it was depicting?

Give it to the Kiwi's and they will get it airworthy:)
