Out of interest (cos I've forgotten) What day did the US Army Air Corps become the USAF?

What day did the US Army Air Corps become the USAF?

It didn't.
The Army Air Corps was combined with other military aviation units to form the US Army Air Forces (USAAF) on March 9, 1942.

The USAAF became the US Air Force (USAF) September 18, 1947.

I've been keeping an eye on Tower Bridge, but no Typhoons have been sited in the area as yet. Where's Flt Lt. Pollock when you need him eh?

A belated Happy Birthday to all in the RAF, keep up the good work :ok:
