Spitfire over Warwickshire?

Last Sunday (15th) I saw a low flying Spitfire over South Warwickshire. Judging by the colour scheme and sound, I am sure it was the ex Clive du Cros Jaguar powered prototype replica. I was under the impression that it has been grounded pending sale some years ago. Am I just imaging this? Any info appreciated, as it's driving me mad and I can't find any updates anywhere else.

Cheers

Ex Oggie ,
There was a previous thread on this. Clive Du cross Spitfire replica

From what was posted I don't think that the Clive Du Cross Spitfire will ever fly again. However if any one can prove me wrong I'd be delighted.

One of the instructors at Tatenhill used to have (probably still does) a WAR Spitfire replica which was painted light blue. Quite a bit smaller than the real thing though and nothing like a Merlin up front.

The Clive du Cross machine is not a flyer at the moment. Must have been something else!

Thanks to 'Fourscrewaircrew' who hopefully solved this one over several mugs of tea the other day! Apparently, there is one of the Australian Supermarine replicas that has been built somewhere in the area, and it's possible that this was a test flight. That would explain the very slight dimensional difference of the cowling and the unusual engine note.

As always, any further updates appreciated, and thanks for all the previous comments

DB6 - that was very likely the Isaacs Spitfre, a 60% scale job which has a Continental O-200 and fixed gear.

WAR haven't come up with a replica Spitfire... yet!!
