Regular Unscheduled Plane Photo Quiz

Looks like a member of the Vultee family to me. (V11?)
|
The tail and greenhouse look more japanesey?
|
Definitely Japanese. 1/ the 'look' 2/ the numbers on the tail are Japanese style.
Haven't the faintest though! Torpedo bomber I'd guess. Cheers James K |
Yokosuka D4Y Suisei, "Judy"?
|

I also initially though Japanese, especially as the `roundel` has been erased, but the engine looked like a Vultee. D4Y3 Yokosuka D4Y Suisei (Comet) Allied Code Name: "Judy" Not a standard engine, but I am pretty certain that it is a Judy. Well done gruntie |
My reference specifically says this picture is NOT of a D4Y.
Try some more. sc |
OK. Now I actually know bu99er all about Japanese aircraft, but I have a handy reference book that does............is that cheating?
Aichi B7A Ryesei "Grace" - maybe. |
I know next-to-nothing about these aircraft - but I'm asking the questions, not trying to answer them.
Yes, the plane in question is claimed to be an Aichi B7A Ryusei "Grace". A carrier-based plane - but Japan had lost all its carriers by the time the plane was really operational. Thank you for playing, SC |
