Unhappy Sir George Edwards

I just heard that Sir George Edwards sadly passed away on Sunday, 2nd March 2003.

May this great man rest in peace.

Here here. A truly great designer. Now, before Concorde disappears BA SHOULD put his name and that of Brian Trubshaw on at least one of them.

RIP Sir George.

This news caused me to dust off my second logbook and turn to this page: 16 SEP 1974 PA23-250 G-ATFF Gatwick/Bournemouth/Filton/Brooklands/(Posn Gatwick) Passenger Sir George Edwards.
It was the only occasion I ever met Sir George and I remember that he was possessed of a very dry wit! ( Must have been my landings!) What a privilege and also to fly in and out of Brooklands too.
R.I.P.
