IL-62 DDR-SEG landing

A couple of weeks ago, a German channel broadcast spectacular footage of an Ilyushin 62 making a (very bumpy) landing on a grassy meadow.

I couldn't understand the narration but after some research found out the plane was ex-Interflug Il-62 DDR-SEG. It is located in Stolln, Germany and now serves as the registrar's office. It also houses a small Otto Lilienthal museum and has been dubbed "Lady Agnes", after the gliding pioneer's wife.

Does anyone have any more info about this event? I'm particularly interested in obtaining (downloading?) footage of that landing. My jaw actually dropped as I watched the big airliner bouncing along on the uneven surface, great clouds of dirt being thrown up as the engines went into full reverse. Don't know whether the pilot should have been commended or condemned.

But seriously, a spectacular job!

IL 62 photo coming in a few seconds

If you can work that lot out, you probably have al the information.

I think that the drift the captain landed an 80 tonne aircraft in 900 metres of runway (grass?) making him the aviation version of Micheal Schumaker.

The Germans are quite good at giving large airframes a second life as I used to visit a DC 6 that is now an ice cream cafe at Preußisch-Oldendorf which is not far from Hannover. A few miles down the road, a Nord Noratlas was present in a theme park.

The Valetta now at Brooklands was a cafe for a while in Dortmund if my memory serves me well.

I am surprised that Cosford have not employed the innards of their Belfast, especially as with its new coat of paint it looks superb.

Of course in the USA it is voque nowadays to live in a Boeing 727.
A lot of thread, but does anyone know of any airframes used in any of these ways in the UK?
