Nice
Great pics damien, I'm holding you responsible for the bruises I received as I've just been kicking myself for not attending. You almost fooled me there with the model Victor overhead...
Thanks for sharing those anyway!

Nice pics DamienB. I WAS fooled by the pic of the model Victor
Came over all hot and flushed I did!
What a potent looking beast it was/is. Pity it was overshadowed in service by the Vulcan. History repeating itself again where the more versatile Handley Page is overshadowed by it's prettier Avro counterpart just like the Halifax and Lancaster.
When's the next event at Bruntigthorpe or is that it for the season?

That's it for this year I'm afraid. May 2003 will probably be the next open day - keep an eye on the Brunty web site, here:

Thank you for such excellent photographs. One can almost feel the roar of the Lightning!
Thank heavens that they're keeping Britain's avaition history alive!
Seeing thth Heron reminds me of days at Lulsgate in the 50s and 60s when Jersey Airlines usd to fly them.
Thanks again - and doesn't the single seat Hunter look lovely!

Damien B, great pictures mate! Bet you could cook your sausages on a stick real quick behind that Lightning!
Looks like a great day, a working Cold War museum.

Beags,
the Jersey Airlines Heron (G-AORG, if I remember) flew over to the Goodwood Revival meeting 10 days ago. A very regal sight (and spectacular motor racing, not to mention the OFMC displays of Spit, Hurri, and P-51's).
