Eastern Airlines

I'm interested in learning more about the demise of Eastern Airlines in 1991. If anyone could give me a rundown on the events leading up to the collapse, and the reasons behind it I'd be most grateful. Book/website recommendations would be great as well.

Many thanks
Bevan Lewis

Bankrupt management of corrupt business tycoon Frank Lorenzo. Big labor problems. Impossibility of continuing successful operations with only scab pilots.

These three books give good accounts of the last days:

FREE FALL (Jack Robinson)
GROUNDED (Aaron Bernstein)
EASTERN'S ARMAGEDDON (Martha Dunagin Saunders)
