BEA Associate Agreements 1950
Would anyone know where I could find out details of the BEA Associate Agreements in 1950 please? I am particlularly interested in the granting of a licence to East Anglian Flying Services and trying to found out the route and frequency. This is the sort of thing that the Flight Gobal Archives were very good for.
Thank you
Thank you
Not much to offer you except this quotation from Tony Merton Jones's Bible in respect of East Anglian Flying Services: 'In July 1948 the company was granted its first BEA Associate Agreement, when it was announced that East Anglian had been awarded the route from Southend to Rochester. The next two years, 1949 and 1950, saw little change except that in 1949, East Anglian introduced a Southend to Ostend passenger service which was flown via Lympne in order to clear customs. In 1950 a daily Birmingham to Ostend service was introduced via Southend. In 1950, another BEA Associate Agreement allowed East Anglian to fly a Saturday morning service between Southend and Jersey on a scheduled basis.'
