Flying from Jamaica to UK in 1962
A publisher friend has an author mentioning flying from Jamaica to the UK in 1962. I assume that would have been BOAC, and also that Comet 4s or B707s would have been involved, but life is never that simple. Did people fly direct to LHR, I presume from Kingston, in 1962, and was BOAC the only airline, and what would have been the aircraft? Key thing is the aircraft as it will inform an illustration. Thanks in advance.

Your friends flight probably lies somewhere in this 1962 BOAC timetable
Beamr is on the money, although a sprinkling of Britannias through the Caribbean in there too.
Note the flights operated by BOAC on behalf of BWIA.

Thanks guys. That's very useful. If we take Sean Connery's return flight as representative, it was out from LHR via New York to Kingston, and back direct to LHR from Kingston on the Britannia, or would that also have been through New York?
