Sycamore that was my thinking, obviously wrong, (Micheldever tyres, your triangulars, my racing Avons for the Magnum), it's an age thing, thanks.
Is it possible that if Sir Edward Hillman's Saloon Coaches were not running, one might have opted to take the Hillman's DH84 Dragon from this aerodrome for a day out in Clacton?
Hillman's fleet 1932 thought to be at Maylands.

Chaps I leave you to sort it out. TCU didn't give the aerodrome name and ea200 did and yes it is Romford (Maylands) Aerodrome.
Dear Bear - I congratulated you on your orienteering but that was in regard to Norfolk - it would appear that you were in need of a compass swing before you ventured down to Essex. I hope you weren't too inconvenienced..........!

DH Dragon G-ACAN is named 'Maylands' by Amy Johnson - note Jim Mollison also. This was the prototype aeroplane. Incidentally Amy Johnson worked for Hillman's Airways from Stapleford during August and September 1934. Photo credit nwamuseum.
The Gordon Dove Monoplane was manufactured at Maylands where it was photographed. Note the undulating nature of the aerodrome. This particular aeroplane was destroyed in a hangar fire at Maylands in 1940.
1935.

That took a bit of finding. I knew where it was but had never heard of Maylands Aerodrome and wasted time looking it up. I have nothing available at the moment and I defer to TCU who clearly knew exactly what it was. Please carry on TCU.
In all my years at this place I'd never noticed that circle (well round edge) until this picture challenge. Time for new blood I think, so this should make thinks less black and white:
