DC-2 Engine oil measurement
I am doing a bit of research on the DC-2 at the moment and looking at an old American maintenance card it states “8” for oil in the engine and “210” for gas in the engine before a flight. Am I correct that this would be US gallons for the gas (petrol)? But I am not so sure about the oil? Would this be in gallons or pints (US) could anyone tell me?

Fuel would normally be in USG (US Gallons) - for comparison we have a 1944 C47 maint manual which states 202 USG each side for main tanks.
The '8' for Engine Oil could be the oil spec - once again in our C47 manual it states 'AN-O-8' grade 1120 (summer)
For the Oil Tank Capacity on the C47 the manual states 29 USG each side,I realise that the C47 may have bigger oil tanks but '8' of anything is not really enough for a large Radial.

This is the DC-3 type cert, I realise the DC-2 had a smaller wing etc, well all bar the Chinese DC-2 1/2 that had a DC-2 outer wing on one side and a DC-3 one on the other that was longer. figures i listed below vary from variant to variant.

Just out of interest we also have a BEA Pionair/Pionair Leopard Ops Manual.
This details 21 IMP Gal (25USG) as the max oil capacity for each side.
It states 168 IMP Gal (202USG) for each main tank.
