It wouldn't have been disabled (the pickups will still be there), but in common with passenger 747s, the capability is rarely used nowadays because the likes of an An-124 can be used to ship an engine much more simply.

She hasn't flown since 2006, but she's back in her hometown as a resident of the Hagerstown Aviation Museum.

Now that same Beverley is being evicted from Fort Paull (having been flown to Paull airfield initially) and will probably be scrapped.
