WOODFORD

For those that are interested in the demise of this once great centre of UK aviation.

The AVRO heritage centre (situated in the old Fire station building) are having a 1940s American day (today, Fathers day). The heritage centre is a must see for all even if you are only slightly interested, it really is excellent.

Apart from the superb heritage centre its an opportunity to drive round the old taxiway system and past the derelict flight sheds (very depressing to see and soon to be cut up). The old massive assembly sheds (birthplace of Lancasters, Vulcans etc )are now long gone and replaced with mega bucks housing !
