Thanks Nutty! Shoreham for me, and perhaps Dunsfold or Eastbourne...

The flyby at East Kirkby presumed to be the 25th August is the same day that the BoB Lancaster is booked for a flyby at Strubby to mark the unveiling of a new memorial to British and Commonwealth pilots killed flying from the airfield in WW2. As Strubby is very close to East Kirkby hopefuly both aircraft will flyby.

Should be a good day at Strubby with a hog roast and a special commemorative beer being brewed by the Batemans brewery.

For anyone wishing to fly in, Strubby Flying Club (Old Heliport) are handling aircraft on the day and hopefully providing transport to the event. Further details as the planning is firmed up.

Hmmm. Nothing in the August schedule north of Sywell, and every other location frmly in the south.

Let's hope they venture north to the home of the Lancaster for later flights. Woodford and Manchester (where the Lanc first flew) should be 'musts'.

Shaggy,
I noticed that also. I don't know about any "later flights", but the Canadian machine goes home in September, so any possiblities look a bit remote.

. A full schedule will be released in the future that will provide details about visiting us including stops at Coningsby and Humberside, flypasts including Middleton St. George and East Kirkby as well as other special events being planned. Last updated: May 7, 2014
It's doing fare paying passenger flights out of humberside for members of the Club

BTW from the Flypast thread

Statement from the OC of the BBMF posted on facebook...

Hi All,
OC BBMF here! Some great posts below. Just to give you a 'heads up' that the 2 Lancs will, of course, be based with us at the heart of Bomber County at RAF Coningsby. They will be coming and going to the major shows mentioned below and I can promise there will be plenty to see, both in Lincolnshire and beyond! It would be wonderful to fly over the whole of the UK, but unfortunately that is just not possible. By flying both to and from, and participating in, the major UK air shows that are on during the time of its stay will mean as many people as possible will be able to witness this truly incredible and historic spectacle.
Please also bear in mind that the program below will grow more detail as we are able to release it over the coming months. There is no hidden agenda! We want to ensure that you can get somewhere to see these aircraft together and we are confident that will cover a large portion of the UK, both North and South!!
So, finally, please be patient with us and rest assured that our intention is firmly set; we wish to honour all of those that served in Bomber Command and remember fondly those who we lost.
Lest We Forget
Squadron Leader Duncan Mason

For those who might be interested, the seat on the Lancaster flight from Canada to the UK was sold this afternoon on eBay for $79,100.00 Canadian Dollars.
As this auction went so well I wonder if they'll auction another one for the flight back?
Regards,
White Bear.
