Douglas Bader - Salute in Sound
I have a suddent urge to listen to this again. I received it as a Christmas present suring the 60s and played it incessantly with the volume cranked up to 11. Wind forward 40+ years and I still have the LP in very good condition but when I tried to get my old PL 112D turntable working it became clear that the motor would not behave (which I only discovered after buying a new drive belt).
So what I am looking for, and willling to pay a modest amount for, is a good recording of this disk. Something like MP3 @ 256kb would be great, but I can listen to a host of formats. I have searched the web and found a reference to an archive file on Rapidshare, but that no longer contains a file.
Any help very gratefully received.
Regards,
Ian

I know this will not be of comfort to you, but approx 3 months ago I took all my old LP's to the recycling dump...........including 'Salute in Sound'.
If you had posted earlier I could probably had it copied to disc.

Thanks for the offers of help. I think my disk is in good condition (so don't need a new one) and at the moment I would prefer not to post it as I don't have great confidence in it making the journey on one piece.
I am really surprised that no digital copy seems to be available. I have a Cowon MP3 player/recorder which can record from either an amp or directly from a turntable so will ask around my local friends to see who, if anyone, still has a functioning turntable.
