Which Aerodrome Mk III
I looked at Scone but it doesn't appear to have trees so close to the apron and from memory the ground doesn't rise away from the runway.
My guess is that it's Scottish though.

SLB - I think that you are seeing clouds as water as it is Cumbernauld, so Ripton has it.

I must admit to local knowledge - Waterbeach is only 10 miles or so from home. It still looks broadly the same from above, though if you look carefully it is rather derelict. The Army moved out some years (10?) ago, the site has been sold for housing, and some 3500 dwellings will cover the area within a few years.
Your photo is interesting; it must date from the field's years as a fighter base, 1950-63, as it shows an ORP at each end of the main runway. I understand these date from sometime in the 1950s, and were eventually replaced (where needed) by QRA sheds.
Standby for the next...………………….

Jenkins, DH.
In my logbook, too. I remember a really crap landing there when being checked out on a C172. At the flare I gave the wheel the slight backwards tweak that suffices on a B767, which then produced an arrival like a sack of spuds. I was severely embarrassed, but at least we could use the aeroplane again.
OH is declared.
