Very good, yes, and lots of guano there I believe. However, not Australia, though several of my colleagues back then in 1975 were Australian, dare I say mercenaries, although 'contract' is more respectable.
Australian 'contract' pilots. How about PNG?
How about moving southeast? The Solomon Islands?

Looked Middle Eastern to me so started around that area.
Difficult to find as there was no marker indicating an airfield/airstrip at that location.
Could not find a name as you mention but think this is the small strip at the extreme western end of Al Hallaniyah Island off the Dhofar coast of southern Oman.
OH if correct.

Good morning, and it is indeed that settlement in Oman, it being the largest inhabited settlement, apparently, on the Kuria Muria Islands. Failed telegraph station in Victorian times when a better line was established close to Khasab at the very North of Oman.
OH called.

Other side of the pond. Photo date 1925. The caption includes "National Guard hangars in foreground; air race hangars in distance". Today it's a 4-runway airport.
