Which Aerodrome Mk III
0920, out to lunch at the far end of my very large county. Still 'mourning' at this airfield? The Liverpudlian who built 'mon repos,' and who remains a very decent neighbour, once lived and built in this town, but not, he assures me, with any connection to the oldest building.
Looks ex USAAF from the diamond shaped dispersals.
South Africa? Fruit growing country?
Further down the boot then? Southern Italy?

JENKINS is correct. It is indeed Basco (IATA: BSO, ICAO: RPUO), an airport serving the island province of Batanes in the Philippines. On December 8, 1941, it was the launch airfield for the Japanese to bomb Clark Field at Manila.
