Getting closer.
Single paved runway, and just noticed single grass one as well on GE - with a glider on it.
Picture before last (runway on right, fields/town on left) is roughly correct orientation -

About 2 hours ago I posted a fairly thoughtful post about the shadows, the rocks, geology and the general retain and someone seems to have taken it out.....

It is not obvious in my second photo, but there is a very prominent mountain sticking up above the clouds in the centre of the image. Here's a closer view:

I'm sorry to hear that your "fairly thoughtful" post disappeared. I would have liked to have read your observations, particularly about "the general retain"!
For your benefit, here are some geological clues. The prominent peak has rocks of Lower Cambrian age.The ridge in the middle distance has Late Proterozoic rocks which contain Ediacaran fossil assemblages.

My post was on the lines the rocks looked sedimentary no t volcanic so not NZ N island or Japan, more like Alps, Rockies, Himalayas

That looks like Mt Robson.,, British Columbia - highest of the Canadian Rockies? Looks remarkably like Mt Everest in some ways.............
