Which Aerodrome Mk III
Flying in to the airport has been problematic recently due to RSAF/UAE military activity but I believe it's possible maybe once a week from outside of Yemen.
Geology looks wrong for Taiz and it's a long way from the sea. JENKINS may be on to something with Socotra.

Bedtime now, and out most of tomorrow, GMT of course, so OH from me if correct on that obscure island. On the matter of obscurity, ages ago I put up the even more obscure Kuria Muria Island, and, of course, it was identified.
Jenkins has it - Socotra it is - I think there's a weekly flight with yemenia from Cairo - or a cement boat from Oman - as the only way in these days but the locals seem to be happy to be left in peace
Jenkins has declared OH

Here's an older aerodrome:
That looks like N America?
Bingo. Now you need to narrow it down a bit.
A couple of clues:
1. It's west of "flyover country", although this perhaps is obvious.
2. Mainly for the benefit of Asturias56, the rocks in the background are Mississippian carbonates.

Good guess, JENKINS. “Close but no cigar!”
However, you are in the right province and the right mountains!

Auxtank,
I hadn't heard of Benchmark or the Chinese Wall, but that location is in the wrong country.
evansb ,
Not Banff.
I've never landed at this location but I have flown over it. The current airfield appears to be slightly west of where these two aircraft are.

Auxtank,
I think you missed my earlier clue:
MT and AB - geographically close, but culturally far apart! Waitress in Great Falls, talking to three Brits and a Canadian:
"Where you guys from?"
"Calgary."
"Where?"
"Alberta."
"Where?"
"Canada."
"Oh, up there!"
We used to go down there in my wilder days, to drive fast. The daytime speed limit was "Reasonable and prudent."
