Which Aerodrome Mk III
Aircobra's? Middle East?N Africa?
S Pacific then - may be the Solomons?
India Burma front?
Red Star? Delivery to Russia. Somewhere in the Middle East?
Just noticed I asked "Aircobra's? Middle East?N Africa?" and Nvubu answered "not Europe or N Africa " - but not India or east of India so it looks like Middle East - the only issue I have is that almost all deliveries of the Aircobra to Russia went via Alaska I think but the lads in the picture above the Red Star look like they 're in Pakistan or similar.......

aa200 has it with Abadan in Iran - you have control.
I thought that my last image would be quite a clue as you didn't spot the Russian shoulder boards on the pith helmet picture - and I deliberately missed out "Middle East" on the Aircobra post but responded in the negative to all the other suggestions to see if it was picked up on as I had the misleading "Japanese flag" image to misdirect you. My source has this flag as a Russian Naval banner.
I came across the Lend Lease Russian deliveries from here when researching my previous Alaskan posting and thought the challenge would last a while.
Here are some more images I had lined up.

Thanks nvubu. Kept following the P39 trail from the first picture. Never found the flag but I knew it wasn't the Japanese as it's offset. After my Napoli guess realised you hadn't ruled out the Middle East and the Russian link led me to Abadan. Interesting research.
Nothing to hand and will be out for a few hours so OH I'm afraid.

The 'Penney' has dropped, Aldermaston? First visited early 50's with maternal grandparents; uncle there, I later realised, was a very early nuclear boffin, and the 'Tube Alloys' in which my grandparents believed were but a cover for the true activities. Village was then delightfully sleepy.
