Bless you!!
A very long way from Italy - and its a lot more complete than you'd think frorn that picture - a joint civil/military base about 5 km from the seaside......
As I said I think some variants of the name have the word "international" attached and I'm pretty sure I've seen international biz jets but no international service I know of........

Sorry guys - internet failure overnight..
Correct - it's not the USA - and a very long way from both the Far East and Madagascar - about 5-6 kms from the sea

I have extensively search for anything about joint civil/military bases. I have now thought that "military" might be navy instead of air force.
That brings up some other possibilities.
Are we by any chance in the southern hemisphere ?

Getting warm..... yes it's a joint base (in fact as a BASE it's largely military - but it is definitely dual use), yes it might be naval/marine, yes it's S hemisphere Work calls - back in 2-3 hours

Working on my hunch it seems there are quite a few naval air bases in S America but only a couple appear to joint mil/civil.
How about Con Con / Base Aeronaval Vina del Mar in Chile ?

It is indeed Vina del Mar at Con Con - just north of Valparaiso - seems to be used for people who don't want the hassle of flying into Santiago and then a couple of hour drive .
Limited privation facilities provision but a nice spot - Dook has the con............

Interesting - all the landings at the ?East ? end of the runway - so a strong and persistent ?westerly? wind regime
Lots of closely built dispersals = fighter base?

No - didn't see much of the place TBH - we were doing some work in Chile and actually flew into Santiago and transferred to Valparaiso by minibus for a few days work.
We spent our drinking time in the Hotel Gervasoni Terraza Bar - great views!
We then had a small charter arranged by the Client from Vina del Mar to Puerto Mont to check out another office there - just drove up and, boarded and disappeared - amazing views flying south..........
