Which Aerodrome Mk III
The original photo shows an outline that is surprisingly similar to Gartree prison on the old Market Harborough airfield, so I searched to see if any other post-war airfields had been so adapted.
Your last post indicates that my search was futile, but it was still fun looking!
I still have no clue where your challenge is!

Ah, tally-ho, yippety-dip and zing zang spillip!
It is indeed RAF Watchfield!
The photo was orientated roughly south, which might have confused you. But look at the shadows......
NavEx, you have the helm!

Cheers, chevvron!
The colour overlay had to be rotated and resized, using the long side of the depot buildings as a reference dimension, then aligned with the 2 roads before being pasted. Then the whole image was cropped and reset to 800 pixels
NavEx, you've got until 1932 this evening, then we'll assume OH!

This will be my first one...It should not be too difficult this airfield being quite well known...
Note that a better image can be found here:

I have tried to show a reduced image with a link to the larger one but did not succeed.

Excellent Spook!
It is indeed Saint Omer/Wizernes, ca Nov 1943...I hope you got to look to the larger picture which is reallybeautiful in detail. The airdrome was fully operational (and stayed that way to the end).
Be prepared I have many of those war airfields (that's a pet passion of mine)..
