I admire your persistence and sentiments Hesham.

However, all the old players have moved to a site of their own.

Please keep trying.

Nice riposte to LM. Well done evansb.

I had to remind myself of the differences between Hudson and Ventura, before choosing the Ventura.

Yes, the unsung RCAF Lockheed GR. Mk.V Ventura to be specific. The GR. Mk.V had greater range than the PV-1, and the bomb bay was modified to carry 6 depth charges and one torpedo. The RCAF operated more Lockheed GR.Vs than Dakotas or Mitchells, or even it's stable-mate, the venerable Lockheed Hudson. Simon, (India Four Two), has control.

Thanks.

A couple of years ago, I visited the fantastic aviation museum in Edmonton and while I was there, poked around in the back and looked at the crashed Ventura that is being restored, with the intention of making it airworthy.

I hadn't appreciated how big a Ventura is. The restoration crew have a major project on their hands!

I don't have a prepared silhouette, so while I try to prepare one, in the mean time Open House.

And fast! I saw one at an airshow once in the early nineties and remember the commentator saying low down they were faster than the Jap Zero.

Not as fast...

Well, Heikkis fans - just found this old thread - let's blow off the cobwebs - I've just acquired a book of Heikkis silhouettes - lots of them, so I'll take the OH offered by 'heshamh' - all those years ago...
