Hawker Hawfinch ?

If you are wondering where the Open house posting went I edited it to put up a new challenge but you beat me to it by a few seconds, so the easiest course seemed to be to delete it.....

No Sir, the engine was manufactured by a famous still extant car manufacturer of southern Europe....

I believe the manufacturers of this aircraft went on to build helicopters.

Thank you Carson. Good clues and I'm glad you have the image loading problem beaten.

But for the moment - Open House. Cheers mate.

Hello Karl. However, I think we should be seeing a starboard end-plate from that distance, if it is the turreted Lysander?

it is the turreted Lysander
I had a clue waiting about commonality of components with my last one the GAL56 ( Lysander main undercarriage) but you are all too quick off the mark.
Control to Noyade.

Thanks Doug.

Got another glider to identify....

And just curious, (I don't know the answer) but what is that aircraft behind Gregory Peck? The year is given as 1953....
