No visible armament, so civilian?
It was built for military purposes and was to have 2 x machine guns but never went in to production. There is some conflicting information depending on what source you use, but it seems the guns may never have been fitted. As you say they don't show on the 3-view.

Its got Belgian look about it?
It may have, but its not from Belgium. European though.

Not a Bristol Martin, but a very similar engine, which was built under licence in the country of this aircrafts origin.

No, but it lost out to an Italian aircraft in a competition to provide a fighter for this countries air force. Hence the challenge aircraft never went in to production.

To help you along the engine is a locally built Gnome Rhone.

Oh no!! - that engine was licence-built in many countries.

Notably Czechoslovakia and Poland.

Well, it has all the right looks, so is it a Pitts S-2C Special open cockpit version?

There again, it looks a little small...so maybe a Myers Little Toot?
