Thanks Martin....I think I was the one who posted it last, and that was a repeat!
Good to hear from you...I picked up that you were pcless until early next month, so figured we wouldn't hear much until then. Hope all is well?
Tied up with work for a while, so Open House. If no takers then I'll get something prepared later.
Hello - I have not gone AWOL.

Presumably turbine,............but retractable gear?
Judging by the fact that a part of the tail rotor is visible in colour at the bottom, then I would guess that it is not that old.

Hi David....yes, a turbine engine Retractable gear in this instance, but there a photo's on the web that also show it with skids.
Not old....in fact a recent design which is available today.

Evening gents. Thanks for the fireworks David. Always a bone of contention every New Years in Sydney as around 7 million dollars of tax-payers money goes up in smoke.

Evening Graeme, and happy Australia Day
As I thought there was a distinct likeness I looked at the Fokker S.12 before hitting the hay last night, but was tired and didn't follow it through! It's the IPD FG-8 Guanabara.

Morning Ken,
Just having a coffee break and thought I'd second your answer as it's getting late in Oz. The IPD FG-8 Guanabar fits to the clues given and the picture Graeme posted is the same one as on the link below.

Edit: Don't want to see any ribald remarks about the way the link has appeared Edit2 I see Graeme's light has just come on, so I'll say I hope ypu had a good day mate

Evening Ken ,
Just arrived and posted a cockpit! I looked at this before I left work and decided it was relatively modern! Strut braced parasol, is it a kit or homebuilt? A one off? No additional seats lurking there I take it, just a single seater? Very long snout, maybe a raked intak at the front and a single exhaust, not a turbine is it?
Edit you say an American design; is that in the USA?
