It looks very workman-like, Ken. A Ruskie???
Not Russian Martin.

Ducted fan or Townsend ring?
Uhh...Reg, on the basis I had never even heard of a Townsend ring until just now, I would say its ducted!

Abrams Explorer - survey/photo aircraft

That’s not a ducted fan by the way, its a engine cowling called a Townsend ring. It was developed by NACA to reduce cooling drag around a radial engine.
Not that I would say this is your challenge, this is where I stumbled into it…..

Ok, I see what you mean Reg. In the case of the challenge aircraft, it's described as a ducted fan.

- Has it flown?

I guess it'll probably be good morning Ken now

First chance of a look-in for a couple of days.

Im pretty certain that it's the Whittaker MW2B Excalibur, built at Bodmin Airport, Cornwall in 1975 and flown only once!

Open House please if correct, still on the dog-watch!!

Morning Trevor.

That was the year I saw it at Bodmin! Visited the airfield on a very warm summer's evening and it was parked outside the main hangar! Well done, it is of course the Whittaker MW-2B Excalibur. Here it is at the PFA Rally in Sywell in 1976.

Now (or it least it was) on display at the Trago Mills centre in Devon:

Hope the dog sitting will come to an end soon!

SincoTC has declared Open House

Hi Graeme, no not a Monsun.

Like the Monsun, it is a standard production aircraft, not a homebuild and not a one-off. European design, but manufactured elsewhere.

Hi trucky
Not Czech or French design, but you are not far away with the latter

Clue. Over 100 produced, first flown in the 1980's. Primarily a military trainer although there are some civil examples.
