RAF Cosford
RAF Cosford is 75years old in 2013. An event that will be marked in several ways. If anyone has any dits or photographs of RAF Cosford over the years, I would very much like to hear about / see them.

I visited the museum and then the RAF Cosford hangars last month. Described in my blog. I was going to post a URL for it but this board won't let me!

My brother trained at No 2 SoTT in '61/62 as a BE Air Radar mechanic.
My only experience was ATC Annual Camp in '68, when the museum was in its infancy. Always wondered about the strange hangar layout, with the main hangars in a cul de sac leading away from the airfield.

The former BOAC Britannia was repainted as an RAF one and the Comet and civilian JU52 survive in hangar one. Sadly the Viscount, BAC 1-11, Trident, B707, VC10 do not which do not reflect the RAFMs finest hour, however in the interest of balance, they had outgrown their real-estate and the Cold War Museum is outstanding.

The problem was that they did not belong to the RAF Museum. They were still owned by BA who no longer wished to pay for their upkeep.

I was in the 38th Entry (u/t Teleg II) at Cosford 1959-61. There are some photographs of Cosford on the RAF Boy Entrant Association website
