Yes ! Well done. I'm so glad someone has got it. I was begining to lose the will to live.

Khatanga Airport. Next stop to the North Pole is Sredny Ostrov Airport some 893 kms further north.

You have control.

Clint.

Not Iceland or Sondre Stromfjord.
I would like to think that we are following a theme.

evansb has it

Ny-Alesund Airport ENAS

A famous location in aviation history. In 1926 Amundsen stopped with the airship Norge en route to the North Pole. The remains of the airship tower are not far from the airport.

Well,

I think it might be Constable Point airstrip at Hurry Fiord, East Greenland.

My father went there once and it looks familiar.

Tack.

Tacklebury, I'd say that you were 'bang-on'. However, let's wait for evansb to confirm.

Thanks so much for confirming my guess. I shall be forever in your debt.
I couldn't sleep last night anticipating the evansb reply.

Here is the next aerodrome.

Mmm..... over eight hours now and no bites.

Here's a clue : This aerodrome is on Planet Earth.

There, that should do it.
