Which Aerodrome Mk II
Well done evansb. You did indeed post a fine pic of:
Old Hyderabad Airport/Begumpet Airport/Begumpet AFS
I am a frequent visitor to Hyderabad (last visited 2 weeks ago and am back in 2 weeks) and don't recognise your description of Hyderabad as disputed territory today.
Ther terminal was built in 1937 by the Nizam of Hyderabad and the photo originally shown is also displayed in Chowmahalla Palace.
Today the old airport is replaced by a new build airport with a T5esque terminal. Begumpet remains a GA airport with training and bizjets. Begumpet AFS hosts a navigation and signals school.

Mr_Grubby is correct The aerodrome closed decades ago, but the site is now home to a world famous scientific lab. Clint has control.

Time for some help.
Though the terrain and flora may appear African, this airport is a very long way from Africa.
I have some intriguing hints and more photos if required, but let's wait a bit and see if someone's memory is twigged.
