Well chaps,

Over 24 hours and no bites so time for a clue.

This is the countries International Airport and is named after a national hero.

That should give it away.

Simon.

Its a Percival Q6 sitting out in the sun - there were several in India and the odd one in Egypt and Iraq. Egypt is not further east than Beirut , doesn't look like Baghdad or Basra in Iraq or Karachi or Bombay in India and Delhi is out, so I will be looking for evidence for Calcutta, Madras, Lahore..........unless directed otherwise.

Nope not Chennai. But India is correct. If it helps the airfield was taken over by the RAF during WW2.

Nope.

A few clues.

This airfield was firmly re-echelon with regards to WW2.

Begumpet, Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, disputed territory, between India and Pakistan. I posted this aerodrome on July 17th, 2007. Check the list.
