What it looks like is an practice assault landing strip like the ones at Ft. Bragg, North Carolina.

Difficult to judge the scale, but could it be Brasilia where they built the airport before the city.

It looks a bit like the Joint Rapid Airfield Construction demonstration project, 2007, Bradshaw Field training area, NT, Oz.

In the very unlikely event that this is right, I'll cede immediately to whoever can pinpoint the location in lat/long, which I cannot. I haven't got a pic available anyway......................

Capot.

You have just about got it, but it is not Bradshaw Field as such.

Anyone else want to have a go before we declare open house ??

Tack.

Ok chaps,

I think Capot must have it and wins the cigar !!

It is indeed Bradshaw Field training area. The Joint Rapid Airfield Construction team built the landing strip in just 14 days in a US, Australian forces exercise.

The site is Timber Creek.

First inbound was a C-17

So as Capot declared, open house.

Tacklebury.

Slightly tongue in cheek but worth a try.

There is an aerodrome in this picture. Part of runway in foreground.

Yes, Ride Runner, it is in Germany. For Krakatoa, no, not Prestwick. Prestwick has been posted five times on this thread, and I've noticed it is also one of the most guessed locations.

The T-33's could be from the 7030th Air Base Wing, Ramstein.
