People.
I am not able to post anything right now. My PC has died and I am using my wife's machine. Unfortunatley all my pictures are stored on my PC.

Looks like a clue may be in order . This airport was its nations capitals first and closed shortly after this picture, in 1955. The tower and terminal survive in alternative use.
OK, thanks OneEleven. It was a good guess, I'm afraid, although the local terrain with C-46's & DC-6's on the ramp were additional clues.

Wards it is - construction led by Lt Col H Ward in 1942.
Busy during the war.
Now known as Waigani - with PNG govt buildings etc.
Also known as 5 mile - being that distance from POM.
