But surely if it's a turboprop she wouldn't be wearing a lightweight headset.

Maybe the head is a photoshop, as well as the handbag?

Why is this post in 'Aviation History & Nostalgia'? This nonsense is better suited to 'Jet Blast'.

They would have had to do the hands as well, no bloke would have dainty 'pinkies' like that.
BTW it looks like no1 firehandle is pulled

If it was, one would suspect that the number one throttle would be at flight idle.

evansb, you're correct in that the replies thus far belong in Jetblast, but as I said, it was a serious question and that's why I posted it here. I'm hoping the experts from "What Cockpit" will provide a clue.

Well it looks as though all four are running. The instrumentation is pretty old and the window configuration looks very Nimrod to me but I somehow doubt that, it must be a reasonable clue though? What is that large display behind the handbag? if it is a radar could this be a maritime aircraft? (The lady looks as though she is wearing a life jacket). Looks more jet than prop, not enough handles and levers for a prop!

I agree, I sure thought it was a C-141 until I really took a hard look at the cockpit. I guess it is not so surprising that the windshields are so similar between the P-3 and the C-141, both being built by Lockheed.

Wow, I would have argued the C141 based on previous images, but apart from anything else it doesn't have the eyebrow windows now I look closely.

Definitely a P-3 Orion.
Looks like she is running at about 1400 Horspower per engine on the torque guages.
Hope she does not shut one down when she goes for her lipstick.
Notice the second set of power levers over on the F.O's side of the cockpit.

Serious question - Ha! The image was one of many in a spoof powerpoint doing the e-mail rounds recently. There are quite a few other amusing aviating photos in same e-mail pp

How come the handbag isn't green? or is the white a fire proof material?
