Evening Graeme.

Your challenge looks like a Royal Aircraft Factory BE12 with a different engine.

Is it the one with the 200 h.p. Hispano Suiza? The model 12b?

G'day mate.

According to the caption, it is everything you mentioned above.

Your control David.

Sounds interesting - don't tell me, its really a triplane but the middle wing is hidden by the fuselage?
British?

I knew it couldn't be a Christmas Special
But it is. Well, my attempt anyway. Somewhere in those stars is an aircraft profile. To know what type, you need to answer the clue I provided.

Your biplane...I'll wait for more clues.....

Morning all
David....so my original suggestion was British, but having had a more detailed look I can't see anything.
Would it be American?

Haven't noticed a clue, but if I'm interpreting the silhouette correctly there is something a little unusual about the design!

The only unusual thing about it are the bracing struts running from the front of the engine to the upper wing.

Wanna nuther clue?
