This is my first response.
There is an Example of the Globemaster One, if I am correct, in the film
"The Italian Job" ,it carried the gold bullien .
I also believe the Double canopy was not very popular to say the least.

Evansb is correct and takes control. Originally a private design by Lockheed engineer John Thorp it was adopted by the company initially as a "flying motorcycle" for the Army and latterly as a speculation for the post war lightplane boom that never happened , or , if it did, had access to cheap surplus Cubs, Aeroncas etc.

Nice one Tu.114, think you're right. Got stuck with the I-153 and I-190, but the nose shape was not right. I overlooked the I-195.

Difficult one, I kept thinking of the missing link between a Lockheed and a Beech, but I believe it is the PZL.44 Wicher.

Grueber,

it does not look very Polish, does it? But you are of course right, it is the PZL 44.

Your control.

Thanks Tu.114, nope, not very Polish indeed - that's why it probably took quite long and intensive Googling. Stummbled on it by accidence to be honest...

Anyways, didn't find this one in the list, so here it goes:
