They're falling like nine-pins today. It is indeed the Rogozarski Sim-XII-H Training Seaplane of the late '30s
Well done one11!

Could it be a LaG 5 perchance, as in the LaGG 3 re-engined with an ASh-82 radial, not the LaGG 5 subsequent development as this had a more bulbous snout.

Mmm canopy shape looks wrong.......

LowNSlow,

Tov. Lavochkin probably would have used a 10 feet pole to touch this one.

Ah, would it be the ASh-82 engined version of the MiG 3 known as the MiG 3-82 or the I-210?

It is a Shvetsov engine in the nose , but the plane is not a MiG design.

Sīland,

thatīs right. An attempt to squeeze a little more performance out of the I-16, but only built on small scale for testing purposes. After a crash and Polikarpov falling out of Stalins favour, the La 5 series was focussed on instead.

Your control.

EDIT: I only saw one11s response after sending this; it of course is correct as well, but Sīland was first.
