Sorry but no again. You are all hovering around it but just not there. There is an important aspect to this machine that all those already mentioned do not have

I'm a bit puzzled by that sticky-up thing behind the canopy; is it a test aircraft for ejector seat trials ?

Internet back working properly now....seems to be a lot of chat!....the Shenyang J4 was I beleive used for both the Chinese MiG-17A and F models. The only other one I thought of was the J2 but thats already been suggested.....time to look in the books I think!

One last shot then I must go; how about the Shenyang BA-5, remote controlled Drone variant od the J-2 ?

I understand that this was later converted to sample radiation frpm A-Bomb tests and called the Shenyang CK-1A

Bingo!!

The Ba-5 target drone was based on the J-5, a Chinese copy of the Soviet MiG-17 (NATO codename: Fresco) subsonic fighter. The target drone has the original pilot seat in the cockpit removed to provide additional space for the automated flight control system. Several hundred retired J-5s are believed to have been converted air-to-air and surface-to-air missile testing.

Additionally, the PLA Air Force is believed to be exploring the possibility of using the unmanned Ba-5 drone for ground attack role. The aircraft simply serves as a ‘cruise missile’ by flying to the target zone and then plunge into a large area target such as airport or depot.

No place for the bollocks LM! SincoTC has control!
