Thanks Mel. Did you scan that from page 199 of Mason's book? Did you notice the wheels?!

I'm sober David, but I'm about to watch "Thunderball" on the telly (love the Vulcan part), so my light will be on, but I'll only respond during the commercial breaks...lol!

Here we go...

Not a Heinkel mate. But to speed things along, it is German.

(Did Jessica Watson make the news over there?)

Good Morning David, Good Evening Graeme.

The answer to your question is yes, I hope that was the state before the overhaul.

The wing reminds me very much of the Henschel Hs 126, but it clearly isn't that. The Hs 122 of a couple of years earlier perhaps?

Comercial break

Sorry mate, not Henschel.

(Thunderball - Wouldn't the interior of the Avro Vulcan still be on the "secret list" in 1965?)

Was the engine exclusively a radial, 'cuz I've been there.

I think the engine is a Siemens-Halske.

Evening Graeme,

Could it be the Focke Wulf (S) 39B ?? I've found one photo without a Townend ring and it looks very similar.

One only built in 1932 and then sold to the Soviet Union. Fitted with a Seimens Sh 22B Jupiter

Aw mate, you're nearly there!

This machine was designed to compete with the He 46 but proved too unstable
I think the engine is a Siemens-Halske.
A Siemens SAM 22B 9-cyl A-C Radial, 660 hp.
