The underbelly drop tank(?) makes me think 'military' and the fixed(?) undercarriage as if the aircraft is expendable, like a drone or radio-controlled flying-bomb. Was there a single engine version of the Interstate TDR-1?

Back to the lawnmower...

Nice to see that it is a challenge but something tells me that Sablatnic is holding back? RR

I'm not holding back. I just can't remember where I have seen it. Have a job to look after today. :-(
See you.

Only so far that it has an inverted in-line piston engine and what appears to be a constant speed prop.

Let's wait and see what Carson comes up with......

Could be a geared boxer. Maybe a Tiara.

I'll come out now and say that I haven't located the engine type for this machine. I have quite a lot of other information on it though. RR

Surely the Tiara is a horizontally opposed engine.

Thinking about it that's probably what sablatnic refers to as a boxer.

I'm not sure we'll hear from Carson. He said he was going to be out for a couple of days, didn't he? Just Skytrain without offerings yet. When you get the urge to get out the malt I'll feed in some more info on this one... assuming it hasn't been snapped up! RR

Bomber Command appreciated

A new book, 'Lancaster:The Second World War's Greatest Bomber' by Leo McKinstry, is featured in an article in today's Daily Mail. The last paragraph reads ' The RAF's Lancasters gouged out the industrial heart of Germany. The campaign spelt ruin for the Reich's war economy and military capability. And in the end, despite the civilian death toll, that was the greatest moral triumph of all'.

Horisontally opposed are right the words. Need not be a Tiara though. Could be a Lycoming GO 480 or any similar engine.
Don't know what it is.
Anyone seen MReyn24050 lately.

Well, true to my promise here's a clue. A small one. The aircraft was designed in the 1950s for a specific purpose for a country in the southern hemisphere. RR
