RAF Market Harborough
Can anyone give me any info on RAF Market Harborough?
I have looked on Google and on Google maps with little success .
Where was it? There is an area just north west of the town which looks like a possible site.
My father lived very close by and by 1944 was occasionally flying in to visit his family.

According to Action Stations 2 Market Harborough is at grid SP710890 (look at a 1:50,000 Ordnance Survey map No 141 I think). It is immediately outside M H near the village of Foxton. It was active 1943 - 1947. After the RAF left it was converted into a prison.

Thanks for info.
It was where I had seen a likely spot on google but couldn't be sure. Great to get accurate fix and good website of airfields for future reference.
I must have past the prison most days on the way to school but had no idea that the airfield was right next to it.
